Alliterative verse in medieval English
This is a nascent site aimed at helping people to understand how the alliterative poetry written in medieval Germanic languages works. Alaric's seeking funding to develop it into a fully-fledged teaching resource. So far we have material on:
- Old English (currently disabled due to a security problem, October 26 2015)
- The fourteenth-century alliterative revival
Edit: these pages used to have some clunky but usable interactive exercises on. But the script used to make these work turned out to contain a security loophole which allowed people to hack Alaric's site. At the moment, then, the interactive features are out of service. October 26 2015.
Any feedback on the site is welcome--whether about problems making it work or more general ways in which it could be improved. There's a pretty good chance that Alaric will respond to feedback quickly, too, so your suggestions have a good chance of having visible effects! Email Alaric at firstname.lastname@example.org.
